Jeremiah Coogan (PhD Notre Dame, MPhil Oxon) is a scholar of the New Testament and early Christianity whose research focuses on Gospel reading, material texts, and late antiquity. His first monograph, currently under contract with Oxford University Press, analyses Eusebius of Caesarea’s fourth-century reconfiguration of the Gospels as a window into broader questions of technology and textuality in early Christianity. His current project, “Expanding the Gospel according to Matthew: Continuity and Change in Early Gospel Literature,” at the University of Oxford is funded by a two-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Research Council. He is also a 2019–2021 Junior Fellow in the Andrew W. Mellon Society of Fellows in Critical Bibliography at Rare Book School (University of Virginia).
